My Writing Process

Have you ever came across an article with valuable info? However, when you clicked on the link, there was a lot of fluff? I find such articles annoying. I'll get straight to the point.

🅐 Pick (Create) A Super Power/Ability
When developing a character, for me, starts with its superpower or abilities.
There are a lot of super abilities, which have been created over the past decades. Therefore, originality is hard to come by. However, what's more relevant is your character's story and makes them unique. Write down a list of superpowers that comes to mind. It can be generic. No biggie. After choosing the superpower/ability you want, create the "why." Why does this character have this ability?

🅑 Give Them A Name
There's power in a name. Words mean things. Giving your character a superhero name is cool but not always necessary. I say this because it depends on the theme of your story. Not all heroes wear capes and tights, so it is important to be cognizant of your settings and what makes the most sense. More serious and mature stories require more pragmatism. If you decide to give your character a superhero or code name, make sure it matches their abilities somehow. Though this need not be the case every time. Your character also needs a first and last name (at least). Bold and empowering names help boost the image of your character. Memorable names are good for marketing.

🅒 Character Description
A character description is, in other words, used to describe what your character looks like. Here is an example of one;

Background Story
Alice was born to an unknown and unique sector of human beings in the U.K. Yet, she was born with the abilities she has.

🅓 Background Story
A background story is quite important. Every person has a background story. It is those memories that help develop a person. A decent background story should provide you a reason for your character's "why." It can set a clear trajectory for your character's path

🅔 Write An Outline of Your Story
Your outline can consist of bulletin points. It is a summary of the story you want to write. Have a clear image of how you want your story to start and end. Everything else will be a series of events that will fall into place.

🅕 Write The Full Story
"How do you build a house? One brick at a time. Break the big task into smaller, more manageable tasks, and it becomes easier." – Henry Ford.
Ain't nothing to it but to do it. Take your time when writing. You can do it. I hope this article helps.
